Apolitical and non-denominational in nature, the FDFL allocates funds where they have the most benefit for Lebanon.

A tax deduction of 60 to 66%

Donations are eligible for an income tax reduction equal to 66% of the amount paid up to a limit of 20% of taxable income, and a corporate tax reduction of 60%.

To enable Beirut to reclaim its unique vocation in serving thought and culture in the Middle East, the FdFL has chosen the Sursock Museum.

This true architectural gem represents, through its very design, a dialogue between the two shores of the Mediterranean, with its Lebanese triple arcade and Venetian stained glass.

It was donated by its owner to the city of Beirut to become both a conservatory and a driving force for contemporary Lebanese art.

Thanks to the support of several patrons, including the FdFL, and despite the destruction caused by the double explosion of August 4, 2020, it is on its way to becoming that once again.

Empowering principals to drive innovation and social change in Lebanon's schools, in collaboration with nafda

nafda is a movement that utilizes the education sector as a channel for social transformation. Through this partnership, our aim is to empower school principals and educators to mobilize stakeholders in their schools and communities to promote engaged citizenship, good governance and social justice through different interventions.

Initiatives are implemented around 3 main pillars: school transformation projects, advocacy & community engagement, and the promotion of these values.

School Transformation Projects: We collaborate with schools to assess their specific needs and develop projects that address priorities identified by their communities. These initiatives enhance student learning experiences, build educator capacities, and foster community engagement. Key focus areas include:

  • STEAM
  • Equitable & Inclusive Education
  • Student Skills Development
  • Media & Information Literacy
  • Wellbeing

Advocacy & Community Engagement: At the heart of nafda’s work lies the recognition that school principals are often overlooked yet powerful agents of change. The nafda team focuses on facilitating capacity-building opportunities to amplify principals’ leadership, agency, and advocacy skills. This is done through training, coaching, access to experts and peer-to-peer support.

Values Promotion: nafda supports schools in mapping how our 3 core values are implemented and strategizing how to achieve their goal for values implementation. We equally piloted Aal Seha, a citizenship tool that encourages students to think critically and engage in discussions on pressing issues in Lebanon, addressing the underlying causes of its socio-economic challenges.

The corporate purpose of the France-Lebanon Endowment Fund

The purpose of the FDFL is to promote and carry out, directly or indirectly through other non-profit organizations, any initiative of general interest making it possible to:
preserve the basic needs of the individual, targeting any Lebanese national residing in France or Lebanon; any person of Lebanese mother or father residing in France or Lebanon; any French national residing in Lebanon; and
promote and preserve essential Lebanese collective goods by targeting cultural heritage ; environmental heritage; economic environment.
